Waterfront Law Team Supports Lynnhaven River NOW’s 21st Annual Oyster Roast

May 10, 2023

The 21st Annual Lynnhaven River NOW (LRNow) Oyster Roast took place last Saturday; May 6th and the Waterfront Law Team was happy to support such an important event. All proceeds from the event will support Lynnhaven River NOW’s Pearl Education, Pearl Homes, Pearl Business, and Pearl Faith Community outreach and education programs.

“Thanks to the kind support of our oyster roast by companies such as Pender & Coward, the proceeds from the event will help LRNow continue its mission of promoting clean and healthy waterways in all of Virginia Beach,” said Brian Sagedy, Development Director, Lynnhaven River NOW.

Waterfront Law and Pender & Coward team members Jim Lang, Mancha Stanton, Rachel Hinson, Kerry Stolz and Jeff Wilson were happy to attend and host industry partners through our event sponsorship. Our team and guests alike were able to enjoy oysters from Cherrystone Aqua-Farms and BBQ from Beach Bully, drinks by Chesapeake Bay Distillery and Smartmouth Brewery as well as music by Lassiter and the Weeds. Furthermore, there was a live auction, silent auction, raffle, and oyster shucking contest.

The goal of Lynnhaven River NOW is clean and healthy Virginia Beach waterways. Their objectives include to identify and reduce sources of contamination in our local waterways; to educate and engage the community and partner organizations in restoring and protecting our waterways and natural areas and to restore the lost habitats such as oyster reefs, salt marshes, native plants, forests, and other buffers that help to filter polluted runoff and protest our waterways and their marine life.
