June 10, 2019 | Quick Takes

As a follow-up to riparian property rights attorney Jeff Wilson’s recent article on the effect of sea-level rise on waterfront properties in Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore, here is a thoughtful and important editorial that appeared this week in the Daily Press [ https://www.dailypress.com/news/opinion/editorials/dp-edt-hampton-roads-sea-level-rise-0605-story.html ] that calls for regional cooperation in dealing with the issue. The piece recognizes that, like so much in our region, the problems of sea rise and increased flooding are being handled piecemeal by localities and calls on them to follow the example of Louisiana and band together to work on regional solutions.
